Shout-outs overload A$AP Ferg’s freshly revealed track with him spitting over a (slightly) remixed “Trophies” beat. The original beat was a B-side from Drake’s Nothing Was The Same.
Substituting any form of a chorus with shout-outs, Ferg kicks into hood pope gear. He waxes poetically on his relationship with his Uncle (“I was tough I told him never get discouraged/ Im’ma take you out the hood Uncle, don’t worry/ and now he first class at different delis”) and dishes props to his mom (“Shout outs to the lady/ I think of you daily/ she grew me and raised me and tutored me daily/ ‘cause school was crazy and who would’ve knew that route would’ve made it, that blueprint you laid it”). Call it a unique approach to a thank you track, just remember, “There ain’t no awards for that”.
Don’t forget about the upcoming A$AP Mob collaboration L.O.R.D. scheduled to drop March 4.
