It's sort of a miracle that a band as understated as The xx can consistently kill it on late night television shows, venues that usually demand excessive showmanship and the kind of jokes that get punctuated with a rimshot. Maybe it's the subtlety of their music that gets across in the end—the xx played "Chained" off their latest effort Coexist on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night, and it was a beautful, shadowy performance.
