As of right now, One Dae may only be familiar with those who followed late 90s battle rap. But, this Boston bred rapper—who once went toe-to-toe with Mos Def—may very well strike up a new fanbase with his debut album Daes & Times. On the lyrical side, the project features verses from notables like Evidence, Sean Price, and C-Rayz Walz. While the production is served up by Marco Polo, M-Phazes, and Domingo (who produced songs like Big Pun’s “Dream Shatterer” off the classic album Capital Punishment).
Daes & Times may heavily be influenced by the graffiti-covered sounds of Clinton era Hip Hop, but the project delivers more than just a nostalgic taste of yester-year.
