Boston's Quilt are prepping to start the new year with a bang. On January 28, the neo-psyche pop trio will release Held In Splendor, the follow-up to their 2011 self-titled debut. Then in February, they'll embark on a month-long nationwide tour through North America. Earlier this month, Quilt released the video for "Arctic Shark" - sixties-chic occidental guitar-twanged gauzy pop finessed with Anna Fox Rochinski's wispy vocals. The latest track from Held In Splendor demonstrates Quilt's multi-dimensionality. On "Tired & Buttered", guitarist Shane Butler fueles the vox and the strings, slamming on the gas pedal for an urgent tune that meanders in the realm where The New Pornographers and The Troggs might have brainstormed.
Held In Splendor is available via Mexican Summer on January 28, 2014.
