Prefix Premiere: L'Orange 'Dusty Speakers (Instrumental)'

If you've been living under a rock (or simply enjoy being late to the party), you've missed out on L'Orange and Stik Figa's incredible collaborative album, The City Under The City. Lucky for you, music doesn't get swept under the rug and you can find it out there in the vast internet world.

And, lemme go on the record and stress the importance that you do go and listen to that album, because it's 'album of the year' worthy.

Today, on the other hand, shows the instrumental side of what is The City Under The City, with L'Orange releasing the entire album's instrumentals today for a measly fiver. The opener, today's focus, thunders straight from the needle dropping/hitting the play button and invasively clouds your brain with visions of noir-infused brilliance. After hearing Stik Figa's raps, one could pose the complaint that the music seems barren, but the instrumentals (much like his previous masterpiece - not an exaggeration - The Mad Writer) deepen and thrive with every note - something not many producers or creators can really pull off. "Dusty Speakers" is the shortest song on the record, but it concisely puts together a very thrilling listen throughout, making you beg for more and allowing the rest of the album to seamlessly latch on to your brain and never let go. You're in L'Orange's world and there's no looking back. Not that you'd want to.
