American Laundromat Records, an independent label that has previously compiled musical homages to The Cure and The Smiths, will be releasing a tribute album dedicated to the charming new-Nouvelle-Vague adventure films of Wes Anderson. There will be plenty of time to crouch anxiously by the mailbox, though, as the release date is set for sometime in Spring 2014. Black Francis, Freelance Whales, Juliana Hatfield, and Telekinesis, to name a few, have contributed their versions of re-popularized classic songs from his films. The 2-CD set includes swag, of course. Who wouldn't want a Max Fischer "Rushmore Academy" business card and lapel pin?
