Ibn Inglor hates comparisons. In the new single off New Wave, the Chicago experimental emcee has a message for people like myself: music bloggers. “Black Print” paints a vivid picture of the emotions which musicians feel when the media responds to their music. Specifically, Ibn Inglor addresses the theme of his own personal musical comparisons to Kanye West. This isn’t to say that he wishes to show disrespect to Kanye West, but rather he is battling to create his own identity within the music world and the constant comparisons make this an obstacle for the young emcee. The best part is that this song doesn’t come off as braggadocious, but rather psychological.
