A few weeks back, we shared this track with you. Describing the track as a Daniel Rossen-Beach House relative, we also affirmed you'd be in love with the sparse, lofty guitar that wanders in the back. But now, the video is here to show us a lighter side to the wounded nature of the song.
Nostalgia is the best word to describe the video - from the vintage film filters to the children playing variously throughout. Conrad himself refers to his childhood in his music, and this track is no exception. Conrad's voice is put to sync with a child, mouthing each word like the kid is the artist himself. The delicate existence this song balances on is heartrending and emotional. The video features stark images of war and death, which only add to the weight of the strained, downtrodden vocal.
