Gawker has called it the song of the summer, your office mate has been mumbling "What the fox say?" to himself all week, and thousands of confused people have been left dumbfounded by "The Fox."
Norwegian brothers Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker (aka Ylvis) have released this dance-y number in promotion of the new season of their show on TV Norge in Norway. "The Fox" has been passed around and featured everywhere from music blogs to Mother Jones, resulting in over 9 million views in less than a week.
The track — which is hilarious, brilliant, confusing to Americans who never really cared for The Mighty Boosh — runs through a litany of animal sounds before pondering one of life's great mysteries: What does the fox say?
Ok. That's all. There is no explanation that does justice to this video. Plus, it's better if you don't really think about it too hard before you watch it.
