After hearing "LOREAL," it's clear that OG Che$$ could make a name for himself away from his former partner, Travis $cott. He's got a distinct, nasally voice, quirky ad-libs and "uhh" sounds that have already scored him some fans, including A$AP Ferg, the latest member of the Harlem rap squad to make his debut. He's got an interesting, polarizing sound, which is probably why Chess has such loyal fans (just check out the overwhelming "OG WANG" support via his Twitter feed). The Houston, TX rapper has released his latest offering, CMV2 via his Soundcloud.
Clocking in at 23 tracks and almost an hour and a half long, the rapper's debut mixtape is self-proclaimed "nerdcore hip-hop," and definitely is a solid, interesting set of tracks. Check out "LOREAL" (if you haven't already), "Toast," "Jungle" and the Cardo-produced "Purple". Stream and download the mixtape above.
