Now Canadian Hip Hop doesn’t need to only be associated with Drake any longer. Shad is a new comer from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. After releasing The Spring Up EP with Skratch Bastid in June, Shad is back with a brand new song entitled “Stylin’.” It features fellow Canadian artist Saukrates and is also produced by Shad’s frequent collaborator Skratch Bastid.
Shad’s jittery flow on top of the gritty bassline and Saukrates’s soulful vocals make for a refreshing mix. Shad drops knowledge on his Kenyan roots, literary expertise, and rap-hating fans. Make sure to pay close attention and you’ll realize the deep lyricism of this promising new artist.
