Maverick HD is pretty confident that his band’s covers are better than the originals. The Upperclass Men are a prominent hip hop band who are well known in the Brooklyn scene. Their newest music video for “Vae Victis” has appeared on MTV among other places. Recently, the band played along side the legendary Questlove at the Apple Store in New York City.
In this new cover of the popular Yeezus track, the band seems to have studied the showmanship of Kanye West’s Saturday Night Live show. But, they have also added a bit of their own creativity by adding a few abrupt pauses and Hollis’s nasally voice gives off electrifying energy.
The Upperclass Men are currently working on the finishing touches to their full length album Amnesia, their first project since 2012’s Parachute EP.
