Hailing from Los Angeles and currently residing in Austin, Letting Up Despite Great Faults has been spearheading the way for hazy jangling pop music for the last few years. And lead by Mike Lee, the guitarist/vocalist has pushed the band’s sound towards perfecting the melt of indie pop melodies with jangling guitars and shoegaze electronics. Their debut self-titled album had numerous tracks such as “In Steps” that gloriously captured many ears with its luscious sounds and harmonies.
Now coming off their sophomore album Untogether, Lee and company sought to do the same and that can be heard in their single “Details Of My World.” Full of warm keys, loud jangling fuzzy guitars, and Lee’s vocals melt together effortlessly. And to give the song even more emotive sensibilities is their newest music video for the song.
Directed by Simon Brand, the video is full of shots that are Lost In Translation-esque. Slow quiet shots follow the protagonist as you can visibly see the struggles she has emotionally.
The song is now available through their self-released sophomore album Untogether.
