The term, "chillwave", used to label effects-processed melodic synth-pop sounds pretty misleading, especially when describing Small Black's warm and liberating daydreamy anthems. In the music video for "No Stranger" - the second single off of Brooklyn quartet's latest LP, Limits of Desire, Mandy Mandelstein and Addison Mehr captures the possibilities, where you take a chance with someone who may or may not turn out to be a stranger. Just because you've never met them before, doesn't mean you feel unfamilar with their spirit.
