Myspace Relaunches, Releases Hip "Welcome To The Neighborhood" Playlist (Stream)

If you were part of the Myspace world almost a decade ago, other than the selfies, animated GIFS, top friends, ultra hyper designed profiles, and so on - one of the biggest aspects of the site was its ability to promote musicians through their band profiles. With the ability to add your own tracks, add tour dates, post photos, and have a blog that updated fans it was one of the best mediums to promote your music. It was even more important for the many independent bands. Artists such as Lilly Allen, Sean Kingston, Arctic Monkeys, and Lily Allen have all been discovered on MySpace.

But ever since Justin Timberlake came into the picture take some owner take in the company, the dying social media site has seen some sort of resurgence. As the pop star said in 2011 “"I don't have anything on my plate other than think-tanking a lot of different ideas for Myspace.” And since then we’ve seen a redesign of the site in 2012 and now it has officially relaunched on June 12, 2013. All of the profiles have now been turned into the “new” Myspace profile incorporating its brand new slick design. No longer are the days of glowing images and altered profiles skewing one’s eyes. The site has been rebranded and redesigned to concentrate on what made it the giant it was once, a music portal.

Other than Justin Timberlake, artists such as The-Dream, Jamie Lidell, Emilie Sande, and many other new hip artists have embraced the new site.

And to welcome back all of the artists Myspace has put out a new playlist with some of the hottest up and coming bands:

Sky Ferreira - Everything is Embarrassing

Charli XCX - Nuclear Seasons

NERD - She Wants To Move

Trash Talk - Blossum & Burn

Chance The Rapper - Favorite Song

KENNA - Long Gone

Iggy Azalea - Work

Dough Rollers - Where Shall I Be?

Hit-Boy - Fan

Zedd - Clarity

Daniel Romano - Chicken Bill

Mac Miller - S.D.S.

Riff Raff – Now I Got Tha Juice

Ciara – Body

Ryan Hemsworth - Perfectly

Schoolboy Q - Yay Yay

DIIV - Human
