With all of the talk about Daft Punk saving electronic music with their new album Random Access Memories and the "EDM kids" just not getting it, people forget just how long electronic and dance music has been around. And although Daft Punk collaborated with some iconic dance legends on their new album, the kids will still have no idea who they are.
On their album, the duo enlisted disco legend Giorgio Moroder for their track "Giorgio by Moroder." The producer has created a slew of tracks for the likes of Donna Summer, Sparks, Blondie, David Bowie, and many others.
Now all the kids get to hear some new material from the legend himself. Part of a soundtrack to a mobile game titled Racer: A Chrome Experiment, his new track "Racer" proves that the 73-year old still has a touch for the knob twisting it takes to create a bouncing beat driving track. He hasn't missed a beat as it sounds just as futuristic as Daft Punk's earlier material.
