Everyone is so willing to hate on garage bands, but there's something really honorable to be said about ambitious dudes who turmoil through the heat and exhaustion of a crowded and rundown basement. And sometimes, if you're lucky, amidst the frustration and sweat, some frothy indie rock n' roll can be wrung forth.
I guess you could say this is also the humble beginning of Pinegrove from Montclair, New Jersey. After many years of their continuous promotion of "introspective partying," they have now released "V," off their forthcoming EP.
In "V," Pinegrove stays true to their all American indie rock roots, following their predecessors of the intimate Grizzly Bear. It moves like a picturesque landscape of the morning tide rushing to the shore as the languid guitar chords crest amongst the frothy waves before the chorus crashes into the wet sand.
