Daft Punk: "Our New Album Is Supposed To Really Suck"

Daft Punk have been generating quite the hype for their forthcoming release, Random Access Memories through their Collaborators Series videos with the disco legends of Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers to the pop culture icon, Pharrell. They have graced a plethora of news sites, from the pop culture giants of Rolling Stone and now to the modern lifestyle aficionados of GQ magazine.

While the collaborators have been praising the French house duo for their progressive outlook with a nostalgic "modus operandi," it seems that the actual members of Daft Punk, Bangalter and de Homem- Christo, have something different to say.

In an interview with GQ, the mysterious duo used the cliche logic that since sequels are always dull in comparison to their predecessor, Random Access Memories will too. "In Scream 2, they have this discussion that sequels always suck," said Bangalter to GQ. "In this scheme, Random Access Memories might as well be Scream 4." De Homem- Christo added, "So our new album is supposed to really suck."

Luckily the newest single "Get Lucky," and the snippet of "Lose Yourself To Dance," seem to prove Bangalter and De Homem-Christo's foreboding prophecy wrong.
