As a droning synth crescendo leads into a series of gallant chords, tumbleweed rolling melodies, and slightly shaky vocal timbres, it's hard to not like New Mexico. Their single 'Wandering' to their forthcoming release Malpais is simple, unsure, but nevertheless genuine.
The chorus is beautiful as glittered-gold harmonies coalesce into a hazy amniotic ocean, sounding like a day on the West Coast as the sun kisses the cheeks of tanned surfers and lazy passerby's. Juxtaposing the calm waves of the ocean, the erratic and fuzz- tinged solo sounds nostalgic to the surf rock buzz of The Ventures. Download the song here and listen below.
