Earlier this year, it was reported that Sam Raimi would be producing a remake of Poltergeist for MGM. Now, it looks like Raimi might also be directing the film, according to a report from IndieWire.
The report is a bit convoluted on how Raimi’s role as director has been detected. The Hollywood Reporter first hinted at Raimi directing in a recent article about animated nominees for the Academy Awards. After that, THR writer Scott Feinberg tweeted that Poltergeist writer David Lindsay-Abaire confirmed Raimi as the remake’s director.
So, unless Lindsay-Abaire is wrong, Poltergeist will be Raimi’s next movie.
