In late 2011 / early 2012 (depending on which part of the world you reside), the former guitarist of The Coral, Bill Ryder-Jones, released his debut LP, untraceable of his former post. On If…, based on Italo Calvino’s novel, If On A Winter’s Night A Traveller, the Englishman constructed grand vistas of imaginary landscapes, fueled largely by evocative orchestral compositions, with Jones’s somnolent vocals emerging now and then to be the guiding star. The follow-up, A Bad Wind Blows In My Heart, is set to release on April 8 on Domino.
