Brooklyn-based Celestial Shore spent 2012 releasing songs here and there - an EP (California Eden), a 7” (Place Aux Dames), and an all-analog split tape with Shopping Spree. All that hopping around with their experimental math rock energy has now been funneled into a full length debut. Mixed by Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), 10X will be available on April 23 via Brad Oberhofer's Local Singles Records. The first single off the quartet's debut album, “Valerie”, is less spastic than some of their earlier tracks but no less psychedelic and incongruent that makes for one bouyant surreal ride. One needs to know how to construct before deconstructing, and Celestial Shore knows that - maybe too well.
Stream "Valerie" below. Their debut EP, California Eden, is available for free download at Bandcamp and check out more from Celestial Shore while you're there.
