Judd Apatow's latest, This is 40, isn't getting the best reviews (51% on Rotten Tomatoes), nor the best box office numbers (a measly $12 million opening weekend), but the otherwise successful director sure knows when to pull the "I have awesome friends" card.
Take, for example, this deleted scene from This is 40, featuring Eels frontman Mark Oliver Everett singing "What I Have to Offer" for Paul Rudd's record exec character, Pete (turns out what Eels has to offer is really, really unfortunate news).
And another funny scene with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, who has kind of aged but also hasn't aged a day, which is both terrifying and amazing. Armstrong attempts to sell Pete on a new musical genre: Norwegian death metal meets Belle and Sebastian ("music you can cry to but also maybe burn a church down at the same time"). Obviously he's never met the person who designs t-shirts for Urban Outfitters because that concept already exists. Watch below:
