Listen To Great New Frank Ocean Song "Wiseman," Left Off 'Django Unchained'

It's been an absolutely monster 2012 for Frank Ocean as evidenced by the number of year end accolades he's received. Ocean's Orange has appeared as album of the year from more publications than any other release and according to Metacritic it was also the most well reviewed album of 2012.

With the year coming to a close it's only fitting to end it with one more Frank Ocean track. Last night the Odd Future member released a gorgeous new track "Wiseman" on his Tumblr.

The song was originally suppose to appear on Django Unchained, but according to Quentin Tarantino, the film's director, there just wasn't an appropriate place for it to appear. In an interview with Pitchfork the director stated:  "Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn't a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that's not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn't want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they'll realize it then."

So there you have it. While it would've been great to include such a beautiful track on Django Unchained, you have to credit Tarantino for not forcing the song into the film if it wasn't a good fit. Doesn't seem as though Frank Ocean is mad about it either. On his Twitter he stated: "django was ill without it."

Ocean also posted the lyrics to "Wiseman" on his Tumblr.
