So that new Portishead album is GREAT, yes? Full of new songs and liner notes and even original cover art! But what does it sound like, you ask? Well, it's sort of like they went into the studio and recorded themselves making music and then released that recording as a full-length album. You know: a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
Of course, fans of Portishead, who are eagerly awaiting the band's actual new album (promised to hit shelves in another "fucking 10 years"), remain pragmatists, in the best sense of the word. In the meantime, Barrow and co. have confirmed a few tour dates to mollify the most restless die-hards (travel to Europe is required).
