If you missed last weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live and wondered how a comedy show would address the recent Sandy Hook tragedy, here is your answer. Rather than run with the standard cold open, the show began with the New York City Children's Chorus performing a lovely version of "Silent Night." Whether or not the choir was planned as part of SNL's holiday program or an impromptu decision in the wake of Friday's horrific events, the result was perfectly poignant. In some respect, the simplicity of this gesture said more than any prepared monologue delivered by a well-intentioned host could've said. [Rolling Stone]
