Nope. The superhero trend isn't dead yet (far from it) and may never die, just like the immortal demi-god Thor. The latest hero to get a big screen makeover is none other than Superman/Clark Kent, the apple pie eatin', America lovin', ethically bound illegal immigrant with a heart of weird alien steel.
This past summer, Warner Bros. released the official teaser trailer, which painted the Man of Steel in very emo hues (a scruffy Henry Cavill trying to hitch a ride, for example), but revealing very little except the obvious. Now, with the release of the official trailer, comes a general sigh of relief: this ain't no Superman Returns.
Looks like plenty of CGI action, shirtless Cavill, and flying (but not simultaneously, because that would be excessive). There's also Russell "The Confrontation" Crowe, space, the U.S. Government, some more flying, fighting, and the inevitable voice-over: "My father believed that if the world found out who I really was, they would reject me. He was convinced that the world wasn't ready. What do you think?"
