From the upcoming soundtrack for the HBO television series Girls, Santigold's perfectly titled track "Girls" will be making an appearance on the official release. The electro popping song fits in perfectly into what's "fresh" about the characters, the plot and angle of the show. Alongside the new track other hip artists will also be making an appearance on the soundtrack (Belle & Sebastian, Robyn, Fleet Foxes, Sleigh Bells, Icona Pop, Tegan & Sara, and others).
The soundtrack titled Girls – Volume 1: Music from the HBO Original Series will be released by HBO/Fueled By Ramen on January 8, 2013.
