Lower Dens' high-speed steam train of a single "Brains" quickly plowed its way into our favorite tracks from this year. The psychedelic-fringed krautrock tune still gets daily plays on my end, but its newest treatment from notorious Danish producer Trentemøller ranks just as highly on a completely different axis. Stripping the original's addictive build, Trentemøller lets the vox on "Brains" ring clear while swirling up an asymmetric groove of his own.
